The FBI is pressing Internet service providers to record which Web sites customers visit and retain those logs for two years, a requirement that law enforcement believes could help it in investigations of child pornography and other serious crimes.

On the one hand, all the conspiracy nuts use this to line their nests. And on the other hand, ISPs already hold quite a bit of your personal information and day to day surfing. The interesting thing is the privacy dynamic, those that want more open source are the same that don’t want a shred of their info out there. Transparency is the key to letting go of the ego trips, but you really have to know what you’re doing first.
